World Series of Poker management billed the heads-up portion of the Main Event final table as a heavyweight fight between two pugilists. But 22-year-old Danish poker pro Peter Eastgate had other ideas; he turned the duel into a somewhat one-sided affair and had his Russian counterpart Ivan Demidov on the ropes for the entire night.

The final hand was typical of the win for Eastgate. A seemingly harmless 4c fell on the turn that gave Demidov two pair, fours and twos, but completed Eastgate’s wheel draw. All the money went in on the river and Eastgate’s final knockout punch made him World Champion.

“It kind of summed up the heads up. I had him crippled to below 20 million and I was lucky that he hit two pair where I hit the wheel,” said Eastgate immediately following the win. “It was kind of inevitable for those two hands to get it all in.”

When the night began Eastgate was ahead of Demidov by just over 21 million chips. The early action saw Demidov hit some hands and win enough pots to take over the chip lead. His lead though was temporary as the deck went cold for the Moscowvite.

“I really had no idea how he was going to play heads-up and he has way more experience than me. So maybe I was playing a bit passive and sometimes I made the bad calls when I should have just folded,” said Demidov. “I still called way too much and it cost me a lot of chips. I also made a few big bluffs at the wrong time.”

After re-capturing the chip lead on the 22nd hand of the night Eastgate kicked into high gear and never looked back on his way to the win, the $9 million first place prize and the Main Event champion’s bracelet. At 22 he also broke the record held by Phil Hellmuth for youngest Main Event champion ever, though he admitted to not thinking about anything but the game at hand.

“I wasn’t thinking about the records or anything like that. I just was thinking about playing my game,” said Eastgate. “I spoke to (Hellmuth) yesterday. He wished me luck and gave me a handshake.”

Online slot machines are essentially virtual re-creations of the original Las Vegas slot machines.
There are several different types of slots, although their mechanics and rules are practically the same. The game usually involves matching symbols that spin and stop to reveal one or several symbols on the screen. The symbols are usually brightly colored and easily recognizable, such as images of fruits, and simple shapes such as bells, diamonds, or hearts. The main objective of any slot game is to line up various symbols in various combinations on the slot payline.

Variations of the number of paylines and reels lead to the difference between machines, aside from drastic cosmetic differences, which have no impact on the rules of the game. And depending on how many reels and symbols the machine has, the payout table will vary.

This is a good point to distinguish the difference between reel slots and video slots, both of which can be played straight or progressively. Reel slots always have three reels and generally range from one to five paylines (one payline being the most common). Video slots will always have more than one payline (sometimes in excess of forty paylines) and are usually composed of five reels.

Reels
Party Night video slots have 5 reels with 3 visible objects on each.

Paylines and payline buttons
Party Night slots game features as many as 20 paylines. Paylines are straight or zigzagged lines that cross through one symbol on each reel, along which a winning combination is evaluated. Each of paylines selected is highlighted at the game screen in a particular color.

Each payline has the corresponding payline button. Payline buttons are used for selecting the paylines to bet on. By clicking the specific payline button marked with the appropriate number a player selects paylines inclusively to the selected one. For example, selecting the payline marked with ‘4’ paylines 1 to 4 are selected inclusively. Paylines selected are highlighted, appearing as lightly colored lines across the reels.

Payouts screen
Once the Paytable button is clicked on the main game screen, the Payouts screen opens. This screen contains the description of such bonus features as: Wild symbol, Scatter symbol and Bonus symbol.
Besides, the Payouts screen itself states the payout table with winning amounts for various symbol combinations. Winning patterns may contain 2 to 5 symbols with various winning amounts awarded.

Bonus Game screen
Once the Bonus Games button is clicked on the main game screen, the Bonus Game screen opens. This screen lists the bonus game rules.

Placing Bets
Placing a bet in Party Night Slots means:
- selecting the value of one coin
- selecting the number of lines to bet on
- selecting the number of coins wagered per line
A player should place a bet before the reels start spinning.

The coin value can be selected with the help of the BET button. The default coin values available are 0.01, 0.02, 0.05, 0.10, 0.20, 0.25 and 0.50 and the coin value selected is displayed in the COIN VALUE box. Coin values are configurable parameters and can be changed on the merchant’s request.

A user can select the coin per line value using the ADD COIN button. The number of coins per line can be 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. The number selected is displayed in the COINS/LINE box.

A player can change the number of lines with the help of ADD LINE button at the control panel. The number of lines is ranged from 1 to 20 inclusively. The number selected is displayed in the LINES box.

The two notions are used in the game: line bet and total bet.

The total bet amount is calculated as follows: (Coin Value) x (Number of paylines) x (Number of coins per line). The total bet value is displayed in the Total bet box.

The line bet equals (Number of coins) x (Coin value).

The figure below displays the situation when a player has selected 0.10 as the value of one coin (COIN VALUE), 5 coins per line (COINS/LINE) to bet and 5 paylines to bet on (LINES). The TOTAL BET box displays 2.50, correspondingly. All the buttons at the game control panel are enabled.

A bet can be placed using the BET MAX button that allows selecting the maximum number of paylines and maximum Coins per line value. Once the BET MAX button is clicked the reels start spinning automatically – without clicking the Spin button.

Spin and Spin Results
When the Spin button is clicked, the reels start spinning. All the control buttons are disabled.

After some time spinning reels start slowing down and then are stopped fully one by one. When the reels are stopped, lines are evaluated for the winning combination.

Loss
After the reels stop spinning and there is no winning combination formed along one of the paylines, all the buttons at the control panel become activated and a player can place a bet again.

Win
In case there is at least one winning combination formed along one of the selected paylines after the reels stop, this payline starts blinking, being highlighted and marked with the corresponding color. The amount won along this very payline is displayed on the payline button. The winning pattern is framed and animated. The information line contains the message with the winning amount. While the winning payline blinks, all the buttons at the game control panel are enabled.

In case more than 1 payline wins, the winning paylines are animated in turn. Each winning payline blinks twice. Note that same symbols may belong to the various paylines and thus are evaluated and paid separately.

Switching to the Payout screen shows the winning symbols and winning amount(s) highlighted and blinking.

Winnings Amount Calculation
All symbols pay left to right on consecutive reels of an active payline. All wins are multiplied by the line bet.

The winning amount is calculated as follows:

(Payout listed in the table) x (Line bet) =
(Payout listed in the table) x (Coin Value x Number of coins per line)

Let’s take an example. For the winning pattern formed in the figure below 10 coins are paid. The coin value is 0.10, 5 coins are wagered per line. Thus, the win equals (10 x 0.10 x 5) = 5. The win amount is displayed in the information line.

In case there are winning combinations formed on more than one payline, the winnings of all paylines are summed up. The information line displays the total winning amount.

PARTY NIGHT SLOTS FEATURES

Party Night Video Slots game provides the following bonus features:
• Wild Symbol that substitutes for any symbol except for Bonus and Scatter ones;
• MEGAWILD feature;
• Bonus Game initiated after a certain combination of Bonus symbols is formed;

MEGAWILD feature
Wild symbol that appears anywhere on the 2nd or on the 4th reel triggers MEGAWILD feature.
MEGAWILD means that all the symbols on the 2nd (in the first case) or on the 4th (in the second case) reel become wild, thus increasing the player’s chances to win.

In the figure below the following situation is displayed: a player has placed a bet on 20 paylines with the coin value of 0.1 and 5 coins per line. As a result of MEGAWILD feature initiated (the wild symbol has appeared on the second reel), all the symbols along the 2nd payline become wild. Winning combinations have been formed along sixteen active paylines! The total win amount equals 57.50.

Scatter symbol and Free spins option
Three or more Scatter symbols anywhere on the reels trigger free spins for a player. 3 Scatter symbols bring a player 3 free spins, 4 Scatter symbols – 5 free spins, 5 Scatter symbols – 10 free spins.

To attract the player’s attention the combination of 3, 4, or 5 Scatter symbols formed is animated (blinks twice).
If one of the mentioned combinations is formed anywhere on the reels, then the reels start spinning automatically without clicking the Spin button by a player.

While the reels spin, the message in the information line displays the number of spins granted to the player and with each spin used – number of the spins left.

Bonus Game
3 or more bonus symbols on any active payline trigger ‘Party Night’ bonus game. This game includes 5 rounds; the aim of each is to earn as many bonus points as possible. Blackjack Surrender is a realization of the game well-known in most casinos of the world – Blackjack. In Blackjack Surrender, a player competes against the Dealer. The goal of the game for a player is to beat the Dealer’s hand by either getting a better hand without exceeding 21 or by the Dealer’s hand going bust (going over 21). The game is played with 4 card packs.

Both the player and the Dealer are dealt two cards, and from there, the player may request as many cards as he wants, as long as he doesn’t exceed the value of 21. After the player finishes with his hand, the same process occurs to the Dealer’s hand, after which the two hands are compared, bets paid or collected. The only difference from the classical Blackjack game is ‘Surrender’ option that allows player to surrender after first two cards are dealt to him.

A Blackjack is a total of 21, when a hand contains an Ace and any ten-valued card (Jack, King, Queen or Ten), but only in case these two cards are the first two cards dealt to a player or Dealer.

Card Values

Blackjack hands are scored by their point total. In Blackjack, cards are valued in the following way:
• An Ace can be counted as either 1 or 11 (it is explained below).
• The cards from 2 through 9 have their face values.
• 10, Jack, Queen, and King are all valued at 10

The value of a hand is simply the sum of point counts of each card in the hand. For example, a hand containing (5, 7, 9) has the value of 21.

An Ace can be counted either as 1 or 11. An Ace always has the value that makes the best hand. Suppose you have (Ace, 7). The value of this hand can be either 8 or 18. If you stop here, it will be 18.

Let’s assume you’ve drawn one more card. The hand contains (Ace, 7, 8). Its total value is 16.

How to Play

Placing a bet
You are allowed to bet on up to three hands and play for central, right and left players.

To place a bet, use betting chips found at the bottom right part of the table. To select a chip, click the desired one with the left mouse button. You may need several chips to reach the desired bet amount; in this case the stack of chips will be formed on the betting area. To place a chip, use one of the ways provided below:
• Click on a betting square where to place the selected chip.
• Drag and drop the chosen chip on the desired betting square
• Click Repeat button to place a bet equal to the previous one (Note: in case it is your first bet, Repeat control is disabled)

The total bet value is displayed in a small square beside the chips placed. The betting limits are displayed in the frame at the top left side of the game table.

Removing /Decreasing a bet

To remove a bet completely or decrease its value, you need to remove a chip (chips) placed. You may do it in several ways:
• Click and drag chips from the table to the betting chips area
• Select ‘X’ chip and then click the chip/stack of chips placed. The chips will be removed one by one.
• Press CTRL and then left click the chip/stack of chips placed. The chips will be removed one by one.
• Click Clear control to remove all the chips currently placed on the table.

Dealing
Click Deal button to start dealing cards. Once the button is pressed, both you and the Dealer are dealt two cards. You receive cards face up, the Dealer – one card face down, the other one – face up.

If you play multiple hands, several hands will be dealt to you. For each hand, two cards are dealt face up. In this case each hand will be treated separately.

Note: If you are dealt Blackjack, you are immediately paid 1.5 times the placed bet, unless the Dealer also has Blackjack, in which case it is a Push.

The Dealer starts playing his hand once all the player’s hands are completed. The Dealer stands on 17.
Game Options

To proceed with the game:
• Click Surrender button if you are not satisfied with the first two cards dealt to you and do not want to continue the game. You can surrender only after the Dealer checks for Blackjack. If the Dealer has a Blackjack, you are not allowed to surrender. Upon Surrender you receive half of the initial bet back and the game round is over.
• Click Hit button to draw an additional card to a hand (You may draw as many cards as required. If the total reaches 21, you are not allowed to hit any more. If your hand busts (its total exceeds 21), this hand is removed from the table and you lose).
• Click Stand button to stop drawing cards to a hand (‘STOP’ flag will be displayed for a moment)
• Click Double button to make use of ‘double’ option. You may use this option once being dealt two cards. Once Double control is clicked, your original bet amount will be doubled and you’ll be dealt one more card. No more cards can be drawn for this hand.

Depending on the game situation Split and Insurance options may become available.

Split – If first two cards are of the same value (two Aces, two Sevens, etc), you may use ‘Split’ option. Jack, King, Queen have value of 10, therefore two face cards are considered to be acceptable for splitting. This rule applies if you have a Jack and a Ten, for example, or a King and a Ten. Once Split control is clicked, your hand is split into two separate hands. One card is dealt from the shoe to each of two hands, and one more bet is placed on the betting area, equal to the original bet. Each hand formed is treated as usual. It is allowed to split a hand only once.

Insurance – This option becomes available if the Dealer’s up card is an Ace. In this case, a player has the possibility to insure against the dealer’s Blackjack.

‘Insurance’ message, ‘Yes’ and ‘No’ controls appear on the game table.

To make an Insurance bet click the Yes button. In this case an additional bet will be placed, equal to half your initial bet.
• If the Dealer does have a Blackjack, you lose the original bet but your insurance returns 2 to 1. The game continues in its normal way.
• If the Dealer does not have Blackjack, Stand, Hit and Double buttons become available to proceed with the game.

Note: To start playing a new game round, click New Game button. To repeat the bets placed in the previous round, use Repeat control.
Game Results/ Payouts
